Tour of sikh pilgrimage at Nankana & Punja Sahib
Pilgrimage is not uncommon to most major religions of the world. The Sikhs in their thousands, visit Pakistan each year to celebrate the birth anniversary of their founder, Guru Nank, at Nankana Sahib, his birthplace. This illustrated guide introduces most of the Sikh shrines in Pakistan connected with the founding Guru. It is hoped that it will serve as an effective guide to assist and encourage prospective pilgrims to visit these shrines.
For non-Sikhs and students of comparative religions, the authors hope the guide will provide readily available information as an introduction to the Sikh faith and its philosophy. But above all, it will provide to everyone, Guru Nanak’s universal message of love, peace and brotherhood, and the emphasis on the worship of one God.
The chapter on the Sikh Raj gives some background to the Sikhs’ history and their present political status. Some of the recent events have been cited in passing in one or two places where they have been of historical importance and significance in the context of references made
Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival at waga border/lahore airport, welcome recpetion by the team of Active Tours Pakistan and transfer you to hotel for O/M stay.
Day 02: Drive to Sheikhpura for Nankana Sahib, spent all day for performing pilgrimage and evening back to Lahore for O/N stay.
Day 03: Another day Nankana Sahib at Sheikpura and evening back to hotel for O/N stay.
Day 04: Drive to Hasanabadal for Punja Sahib and evening drive back to Islamabad for O/N stay.
Day 05: Drive to Punja Sahib for performing pilgrimage and evening back to hotel for O/N stay.
Day 06: Full day city tour of Islamabad & Rawalpindi, tour will include Faisal mosque, Shakarparian hills, Pakistan Monument, Raja Bazaar of Rawalpindi and evening drive to Margala hills for Dinner. Return back to hotel for O/N stay.
Day 05: Drive to Lahore, en route and option for visit Rohtas Fort. O/N stay at hotel.
Day 07: Full day city tour of Lahore, include Arjan Dave Temple, Lahore Fort, Badshahi Mosque, Lahore Old City Walk, Walk along the mall road of Lahore, Lahore Muesum, Shalimar Garden and evening see off dinner will be served at Lahore Food street.
Day 08: Transfer to airport or waga border. End of Services.
